Poble Sec, Barcelona
In a mezzanine floor of the neighborhood of Poble Sec (Barcelona) with a complicated layout and a large terrace, it is strategically posed to place the open kitchen in the gallery, in the place of transition between the terrace and the interior. For this, the gallery is intervened structurally to open a large portal and the entire rear façade is reformed to allow light to enter.
The result is an atypical project, with a very bright kitchen and a more sheltered living space, but equally comfortable thanks to the work of interior design that allows to give value to existing materials (exposed work, hydraulic tile floor, wooden beams, Catalan vault) and incorporate new ones (oak flooring and neutral white surfaces) that together create a warm and functional atmosphere at the same time.
